C&C Music factory…limited edition 7″ vinyl coming soon!

C&C Music Factory
Well the good news is that we officially had clearance yesterday to press up my ‘Share That beat Of Love” (Regrooved mix) by C&C Music factory!! I’m so looking forward to getting this one out there and we’re hoping it will be the start of a few more Regrooved releases on vinyl this year. It will be available to buy on limited edition 7″ vinyl by early/mid March on Andy’s Streetsoul Records website:
http://www.streetsoulrecords.com/

Other stuff
I’m so pleased for Tom Glide that ‘Luv Is Coming Up’ is doing well at the moment – what a great track it is and what a crackin’ fella he is – I’m hoping to do more stuff with him this year and beyond….

Lots of other stuff going on at the moment, with 5 or 6 official remixes in the pipeline at various stages of development. I’ll spill the beans in more depth in the next couple of weeks but its very exciting and I’m blown away that I’m getting the opportunity to work with these different artists.

One thing that will be getting some attention in the next few weeks is a biggie for Caister -my good mates Tom Holland and Chris Hill always put me under pressure to give them something for each Caister! Thanks guys – LOL!! Anyway, watch this space for more news and previews – any suggestions for tracks to be given the treatment are always welcomed…

Cheers, Neil T

The last two years…

Well, in a moment of reflection the other day, I sat down and thought about all the things that have happened to me over the last couple of years since I re-discovered the UK soul music scene and without sounding all ‘new age’ about it, I think it’s made me a much better person.

It was about this time in 2008 that I got an email from Ian Dewhirst asking me would I mind if he played my mix of ‘If You Love Me’ (Love Unlimited Orchestra / Brownstone) on his Starpoint radio show. Well, at the time I was bumbling along working for fun on tracks from one genre or another: soul, funk, hip-hop, pop – you name it. So as a lifelong soulboy I was blown away  – it seemed like I’d finally found something that I’d been looking a long time for…and Ian became a good friend to me during those first few months, giving me tons of advice and getting my stuff spread far and wide…

Since those massive highs at the start, I’ve experienced every emotion under the sun and learned a few harsh lessons about the industry and also about the way some people will react to my work. But ‘thats life’ as they say and you live and learn. But on reflection, I’ve had so many highs since 2008, including doing radio & magazine interviews (which still seem bizarre to me, especially when I was in BBC Sheffield for a live interview) and most notably when I was lucky enough to work with one of my heroes – Bluey. The other big thing for me is the tons of new friends that I’ve made…at 40 years of age! Its amazing!

So, anyway – enough rambling. I’ll be looking forward to meeting loads of my old & new friends at my bi-annual pilgrimage to Caister at the beginning of October….where it’s guaranteed to be full of smiley, happy people!!

If you’re going and you spot me at Caister – come and say hello, maybe we can share a beer or if you’re really unlucky I’ll give you a manly hug 🙂

1975 update and other future projects…

Well it looks like mine and Bluey’s radio mix will be available to buy / download in the next few weeks. Its full steam ahead with the promotion at the moment…..as soon as I get a release date, I’ll keep you posted! Exciting times for me…

I’m currently in Paris for a few days and the creative juices are flowing! Currently working on a remix of a classic track that with a bit of luck I’ll have ready for Caister at the start of October…

More exciting news in the next few weeks about a project that has been a long time coming….can’t wait to tell y’all about that !!

Caister, here I come…

Well it’s that time of year for the first of the shin-digs at Caister – so I’ll soon be making the 5 hour drive to the east coast – thank god for my iPod and Radio 5!!

I’m finally starting to make progress with Cubase 5 – the programme is amazing and the effects than you achieve are staggering. Its opened up a new world to me and I’m lovin’ every second…

With a bit of luck I’ll be able to convince those Caister stalwarts – Chris Hill and Tom Holland to give a couple of  my new tunes a spin over the weekend – one of them is a souled up version of  ‘The Message’ by Grandmaster Flash and a new take on ‘Borrowed Love’ by SOS Band….

So if anyone is going to Caister, please say hello – I may even buy you a pint of a glass of sherry!!

Cheers, Neil T
